That was good. S/he could do with a little bit of help on the script but I shouldn't complain really.

Examine the last page closely. Consider what she may be trying to express through her pictures.

I'm slightly confused. I thought it was pretty obvious what it was about from the start, the drawings seemed almost extraneous.

It's a wolf and a small rodent having sex.

I feel very stupid.

Is she being sexually abused?

So it is a jolly comic about a paedo-dad-raped little girl?

The last three panels have me stumped aswell. Why's the other girl looking at the photos? Seems totally unrelated.

It is totally unrelated. American 'profundity' is often composed of departures into the supposed sublime. It is a ploy to confuse the spectator into suspecting they may be in the presence of something clever. An unlikely explanation.

They are meant to show her looking with disdain at the photos for they do not reflect reality.

"CHEESE! Smile for the camera!" It has little to do with her daily reality and they may look nice and happy and living the all-American dream as a perfect family, but inside they are miserable. It is further contrasted and highlights these things when you see family life for real and hopefully have pieced together the rather horrible situation.

It's not the other girl, Clarissa is looking at them. Are you reading these right-to-left? Also what >>2530 succintly says.

I'm going to explain why I thought what I wrote in >>2421.

Girl get's head eaten, family acts really, really forcefully nice, one brother is a nervous wreck.

Reminded me of the short story about the village that had to pretend to be happy at all times because there was a god that killed anyone who upset you or tried to harm it... It blew up everywhere but the village when the doctor tried to kill it at birth.

That was made into two twilight zone episodes (well, one and 1/4 of a film) and via that at least one simpsons.

Quite interesting, yeah, but how much can you make of a sexually abused girl as basis for a series of comics?

Reading these things one after the other it just becomes a bit grim; I don't really see what the author is trying to acheive.

It isn't an actual series though, it's just a small part of Deep Fried.
