I'm a novice to all things green. I've got a little aloe vera plant indoors I've recently repotted. It's got new shoots coming so I thought it might need something a bit bigger.
It has older, bigger and broken leaves coming horizontally from the base of the plant. Many seem to be breaking under their own weight, so I sliced the two most damaged off using a very sharp pair of scissors, chopped them up/mashed them a bit, and put them back into the soil of the new pot. I suppose my idea was that it would enrich the new soil with what the plant needed. Was I being silly?
>>2406 I once bought a self-sustaining ecosystem in a glass sphere that contained live shrimp or something. they died in less than 48 hours and now i have a sphere of water with some twigs and rotting crustacean carcasses.
