Is it possible to associate PDF file types with Chrome but give them a different icon from HTML files? I had them like that but had to reinstall Chrome. Now PDF files have the same Chrome icon as HTML files and it says the file type is "Chrome HTML Document." When I edit the name or icon with Types.exe, Default Programs Editor or FileTypesMan, changes I make to PDF associations happen to HTML files too and vice versa.

Last time, I gave PDFs a separate icon with Types.exe but I think that might have been on Windows 7 before I upgraded to 10.

File icons use the same icon as the application they're associated with — that's just a rudimentary UX practice. You'll need third-party software if you want to circumvent that.

I've tried to circumvent it with three types of third-party software (Types.exe, Default Programs Editor and FileTypesMan) and it doesn't work like it used to.
