Any of you lads have experiences with moving abroad (Canada and US specifically) either long term or short term. I know citizenship is really hard to gain (in the US especially) but how hard would it be to get a green card/permanent work visa?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Not massively helpful, but marry a U.S. citizen.

This is probably the easiest way to get into the US to live there, they are ridiculously strict. Canada on the other hand, being a Commonwealth country, is a lot easier. You can stay there without a visa for 6 months, as a tourist, and work visas aren't that hard to get there either.

I have a Canadian friend here who didn't even need guaranteed work to come over here. They got the work visa then looked for work. So Canada's the better option, I'd imagine.
