Somewhere near Uxbridge there's a viewpoint in some sort of ex RAF building or memorial from which you can see pretty much all of Berkshire, does anyone know where I'm thinking of?
>>3005 I lived there for a year and the place was flat as a fucking pancake.
At the eastern side of Hillingdon Hill there is what once was the RAF base. There are still a few buildings and whatnot there but it's being redeveloped now. Your best bet might be to try getting to the top of that church in town.
>>3008 There's one place, it may not be in Uxbridge but it's around Brunel university (That is in Uxbridge, right?)
I remember going up there and there was like a semicircular stone thing, or a circular one with a promontory from which you could see Windsor and all sorts of places
You might be thinking of Cooper's Hill, Englefield Green. (Near Royal Holloway, not Brunel). That's has a big RAF memorial. Not sure about the views - I've never been - but it has hill in the name so worth a shot .
>>3010 I'm not sure, I just remember going there with my dad years and years ago, we stopped off at where his old Brunel dorm was (now overgrown and abandoned) and this was nearby... It's roughly in this area anyway.
There was like a very small car park and a classically built building, I don't even remember if it was an RAF or military building, though I'm 80% sure it was, especially considering my dad's family has a big military history.
>>3012 I think you might have been dreaming. As far as I'm aware there're no abandoned Brunel dorms. It might have been something on the RAF base (I can ask my dad, he was there in the late 70s/early 80s); but that's all demolished now.
