They're doing a fantasy football league at work, and I said I would pick a team. I don't really know anything about the Premiership though, I've only ever been interested in non-league football. How do I go about picking a team?
IIRC, most of the points are for goals/assists, so you'd be better off with a 3-4-3 formation for your team.
I always pick a team at the start of the season and then completely forget about it, so I spend all my money on the starting 11 and have a bench of cheapos (as my cheap striker I'd either go for Ba, Shane Long or Pogrebnyak. In midfield I'd probably go for Dembele, Joe Allen or someone from Villa like Bannan or N'Zogbia)
Do any of you want to do a fantasy league? The only unfortunate thing is you have to put your name on it, I might just switch mine with my initials or a nickname or something though.

They are, but it depends. You always want attacking players. Defenders you want from teams that don't concede, ideally attacking defenders like Coleman and Skrtel.

If you've got a bunch of people in a league you keep up with it a lot more, I certainly did last year over the year before. Good stuff.
Anyway I'd have one or two decent subs, and one useless player. At the minute I'm debating whether to put Yaya, Hazard and Sanchez in my team for a killer midfield, Sanchez is a bit of an unknown quantity in the premier league though, for obvious reasons. Also he's classified as a midfielder, which is bloody useful.
>>6155 Mine wasn't too great, I got about 2050 points. Hoping I beat that at the very least.
Now, with Fabregas in tow at Chelsea is hazard worth the asking price? And is Sanchez likely to have a decent season? I'm thinking of packing both, plus Yaya into my team and absorbing the cost.
Remy has just signed for Liverpool so I may have to change someone. I may put Sidwell in the team but I like the Shelvey bonkers factor and swap Zabaleta/Terry for Coleman/Baines. If Lovren fucks off to another league I'll swap for Curis Davies. Bit of a gamble on Arsenal actually playing Campbell; the strike force looks rather weak, so I may put in Enner Valencia.
>>6162 Remy medical has fallen through. No signing for him, which has fucked my team a bit since it relied on his cheapness.
Here's my latest iteration, I come back to it and change something pretty much every day though. This bloody game is an obsession. Got a good rotation pair with Nolan and Puncheon, both are pretty cheap too, Puncheon is undervalued if he continues his Tony Pulis form. Reckon De Gea is a good buy since Uniteds first games should be piss, they should be top after the first six games. Callum Chambers has just signed for Arsenal and will probably be their first choice over Jenkinson, and he's only £4.5.
I'd be a bit wary of having him in my team. He usually ends up with a decent FF score, but most of that comes in a 10 week or so period where he keeps banging them in. This period is almost guaranteed to happen when you've put him on the bench because he's done fuck all for weeks except get booked. There's no real consistency with him.
Well lads we are underway. If Ramseys preseason is anything to go by even 9m is a steal. I've got a lovely eight point substitution from Ron Vlaar to add on after the Chelsea Burnley game too.
