>>6627 So happy mate, shit game overall but we really took it to them in the first half and honestly could've scored if our centre back hadn't got in the way. We had massive financial difficulties about 10 years ago and hopefully we put this money away since our rent goes up this season.
Beyond all that shit though, over the moon. Hopefully I can get tickets afford to get the train to the away game.
>>6633 I know it's shallow, but it's not just that. Cambridge United have been bordering on death for a decade now, even before we dropped out of the League. Things hit a low point back in 2011 when we were close to dropping out of the Conference and losing £300,000 a year. This tie alone was worth. half a million, the replay as much again hopefully, and the rent for the stadium is going back up next year after being negotiated down with Grosvenor Group in 2011. Hopefully this money is put into the youth team and put away for the next rainy day (it'll inevitably happen). The director is a lifelong fan of the club and did sponsored walks and marathons to get funding for the youth team, bless him.
Things have been shit for years and the last eighteen months have been some of the best in the club's history. It could only be topped by a jammy win away at Man United, but of course I don't have too many hopes for that. Equally as nice would be a good league run and to hit the playoffs.
