The NFL Play-offs start in a couple of hours, with the Carolina Panthers taking on the Arizona Cardinals.

Is there any interest in the macho man-on-man marketing exercise that is American Football around these parts?

Is that the one that's a bit like rugby but where they get a break every minute or so, and the whole team gets subbed every other play?

It is more or less rugby league with forward passing.

It is indeed. The breaks can be quite irritating, especially when watching American coverage with the constant adverts for Baconators and Viagra. However, good old Channel 4 gets the main Sunday game every week and their coverage is stellar.

It has a crazy, poorer cousin, Canadian Football, that has a similar kind of "territory" game to Union, and is more flowing. The players are worse though, being made up mostly of NFL rejects.

I play, I find watching fairly tedious though.
