Do you lads fancy a pumpkin carving contest?

You've got just under four weeks to work on your designs and hone your carving technique.

Frozen grapes are fucking delicious. Like little sorbet-y nuggets of tastiness. Best in the Summer though really. Also work as tasty edible ice cubes.

Sucking on ice cubes or frozen fruit is also very good for dehydration, and I am on medication that gives me intense dry mouth. I've yet to find anything which freezes as nicely as grapes do though. Strawberries and other soft fruits tend to go a bit mushy.

Yeah, they're great for a hangover as well in my experience, the kind where you can't even stomach any proper food.

I was told a trade secret today, I'd thought I would share in case you haven't started yet.

If you cut the bottom out instead of the top, it retains its shape better when carving. I hadn't decided yet if I was going to do this or not this year, but hey ho I'll get one on Thursday.

May the best Pumpkin win.

I love how casually he stands above it and tips a bottle of meths on top.
I'm not at all averse to using the more advanced BBQ lighting techniques, but I at least do it at arms length and use safety-squints.

I made a very small OwO pumpkin this year as I was feeling lazy. Any candle in it goes out almost immediately due to it not being big enough and it's already starting to crumple.

Apparently cutting the hole from the bottom of the pumpkin and carving it from there rather than the top helps them last longer and not fall in on themselves, as does coating the insides in lemon juice after hollowing them out. Also, if you put cinnamon on the sides after when you go to put a candle in it it'll smell like the flat of that girlfriend that left you.

Never carved a pumpkin before, but I've bought one, what's going on? Was I supposed to carve it before the 31st? It's Sunday so we've got time. Doesn't it start rotting the earlier you do it?

A carved pumpkin will last somewhere around a week, depending on the weather and conditions it is kept in, so you haven't left it too late.

Make sure you toast the seeds and some of the flesh when you scoop it out.
