Oh no, some academics are celebrating completing some work with some expensive drinks. That's like SPITTING IN THE MOUTHS OF THE POOR.

Proper anarchylads have got better things to rail against.

Phh... The only time I went along semi-uninvited to a reception in Cambridge, a large part of the conversation revolved around the difficulty of standing up without your arms, with your legs in front of you but not crossed. They make it hard to get in so that people think that they're probably doing cleverer things than they are.

The Pimms ran out pretty quickly too, and the strawberries. Richest estate in Britain and not enough Pimms, I ask you...

I meant geographically. It's a complete pain in the cunt to reach, whereas Oxford is comparatively well-connected.

better uni too, Cambridge is a complete dump.

Train lines to Cambridge are fucking awful, you have to go to London to go anywhere else.

I'm a Cantabrigian. I'm a student. I'm not at Cambridge. People like OP are retards.

Ah. Do you remember the Mill before it got done up? I've heard it was a right dive. Or do townies only ever go to 'spoons/revs? Christ those places are full of cunts on Saturdays.

Apart form the bit that involves diverting via London. And the bit where the station is some way out of town.

Well it's great if you want to get anywhere in London via tube. And well, for a city Cambridge is tiny so being 'outside of town' is hardly much of an inconvenience. I live about as far way from the station as possible (Girton not included obviously) and I can still cycle to the station in 15-20 minutes. If you're not cycling in Cambridge then you're doing it wrong.

I'm not familiar with the mill. Also Cambridge late night isn't very friendly, I live in Brighton at the minute and despite being 3, 4x bigger is a much friendlier city late-night.

>>5251
Yeah the station is a cunt. There's been a development push to push the centre further south, toward the station recently, toward the Hills Road area. Sort of like second city centre.

Cambridge late night not friendly? If you mean you don't feel safe then I really don't agree, it feels incredibly safe to walk around the centre whatever the time. Feels like a theme-park or a resort.

They need to replace it with a train line and link it through to the East Coast mainline. Complete fucking waste of money.

Yeah because everyone going north is going to get the guided bus all that way... Anyone who needs it will either drive to Peterborough or Bedford or just say fuck it and get the connection through London or Luton. Pointless. And I say that as someone with roots served in that direction.

I literally just said they need to replace the guided busway with a train line linking it to the ECML. Not to get on the busway all that way. Read before you type.

They could even relay the bits of track they built over to build part of the busway in the first place.
