Evening chaps,

Rather than the usual crap on TV at Christmas my mum's asked me to put together a playlist of comedy/fun things to watch. Things like Bill Bailey's Remarkable Guide to the Orchestra, maybe that thing where that guy made a Spitfire recently.

Any recommendations?

It depends on if your mum is a pretentious cunt like you and your tastes in "comedy"

Anyone who thinks Bill Bailey is funny is a fucking pretentious cunt. Would you like it in crayon too?

It's just light hearted fun, I don't understand why you're being a prick.

His highbrow and intellectual sense of humour just isn't for everyone.

I like Bill Bailey.

I am a pretentious cunt, though, to be fair.

Bill Bailey's sound. I've been a fan since the "Is It Bill Bailey?" TV series shown on Friday nights on BBC2 in the late 90s.

No thread on pretentious unfunny cunts and comedy would be complete without a mention of Are Stew. I'll get it over with quickly.

"Alternative comedy"? More like "alternative to comedy".

You can tell Bill Bailey had to stop taking drugs at around about the same time they started letting him on QI and do animal documentaries; and like many musicians, it has had a marked effect on the quality of his output.

Early Bill Bailey is exactly what I imagine most of this board to be like.

I think we're more like Seymour Mace.

Possibly Brian Gittins.

Taskmaster is great.
Modern life is goodish is ok, though not overtly funny. Definitely watchable though.
You could download Bill Bailey's tours too like Tinselworm and Part Troll.
Guy Martin Vs. the Driverless car is good too.
Tim Minchin is similar to Bill Bailey, so you can check out his DVDs - 'So live' and 'Ready for this?'
Britain's Biggest Hoaxer on All 4 is great. It's about Simon Brodkin, the guy who pranked are Theresa and Trump. Trump was livid.

If you need any more ideas, give me a shout. Don't know why everyone is ragging on Bill Bailey either.

I've always imagined a lot of the chaps here are like Angelos Epithemiou, 4 cans of Skol and a pack of lard in a tatty plastic bag and all.

Those kind of people definitely exist, see them walking around Hull city centre all the time.
