Normally when I want to get stuck in with my things I buy modafinil since it makes you focus like a laser. Ordered 20 400mg Piracetam tablets today instead, since they were cheaper and I was curious about them.

What's a decent dose with Piracetam? I weigh 60kg. Erowid is full of people either combining it with other drugs or taking more than a gram at a time, which seems a little excessive to be honest, so I don't really know. I don't want to waste them finding out, either.

So I ordered about £20 worth of CDP Choline and a similar value of Aniracetam, it all arrived very promptly and all that but they also sent me a free 100g (£5.99 by their reckoning) sample of "L-Glutamine".
Does anyone have any idea if there's any point to this stuff? The second time I took some I did 30 more crunches and five more backwards pressups than I usually manage before I get bored and stop, but that's not much of a controlled study. The first time I took it I fell asleep soon after.
According to google, "Research has shown 2 grams of L-Glutamine can increased hormone growth by over 400%", it "helps replenish declining glutamine levels" and "may help you reduce the amount of muscle deterioration that occurs because other tissues that need glutamine will not rob the glutamine stored in the muscle cells." Oh, and if you take a few grams a day along with some vitamins and not eating any sugar, it cures alcoholism faster than not drinking alcohol.

So is this jock of the nootropics world actually any use whatsoever or am I just being sent powdered snake?
Exercise seems like a bit of a waste of time, anyway. Instead of working out, I could read a book. Intelligence may be transitory but it lasts a hell of a lot longer than muscle mass.

Not sure about the benefits or risks of L-Glutamine, but I have to disagree with you about exercise. The condition of your body directly affects your ability to think and how efficiently you learn. It's a bit short-sighted to dismiss exercise as pointless, unless your life is so jam-packed with reading that you can't spare an hour a day to do a little physical maintenance.

Also, I believe Arnie is in a post-op condition in your picture. Cut him some slack, feller.

I meant excessive exercise rather than keeping in shape. All the same, exercise itself is about as exciting as drawing horizontal lines on a piece of paper. Less so, in fact.

Just tried pharmacygeoff, thanks to the recommendations in this thread. Hopefully this can help me sort out my sleep/over-tired issues, if all goes well..I noticed for Modafinil, it said: "Alternatives with the following shouldn't use it: Excessive use of alcohol"
What classifies as excessive here? I like a good drink, but I can always cut back.

I seem to have become pretty much teetotal nowadays anyway, but I discovered the following advice which I heartily suggest you follow:

>I would have to say follow the label advice and do not drink any alcohol ever with modafinil.

>This is why. Modafinil has been around for a while but no lomg term studies have been done on people who might drink and take modafinil - so until you know its safe why do it?

>Lets go further and look at experience; modafinil does react in some way to alcohol in that it certainly reduces your ability to consume it as several people can confirm. And you know who you are. You can get drunk quicker, vomit more (much more) and then have the worst hangovers on next to no drink. SamBC might be able to tolerate it you migh not.

>Final point why you really, really should not drink and take modafinil that I can think of off the top of my head. We know that alcohol, any alcohol has an affect on your liver. We also know that modafinil affects certain enzymes in the liver that break down drugs such as the contraceptive pill. This is well known; you can't be on modafinil and have an effective oral contraceptive regime.

>I would guess as these enzymes are fairly broad and significant and will be botched about by modafinil anyway the doctor's don't want you making them worse by drinking. So it could damage enzyme production in your liver.

My friend did drink some amount about 10-12 hours after taking one of my pills, and he reported no ill effects. I would say give it at least that, or to be safe 24 hours before resuming your pisshead antics.

Also don't expect to take it and then be like you're on cocaine 20 minutes later, it comes up subtly and you're liable to get as tired as usual while it's doing such. My experiences say that it takes hours for me to get into the state of "I'm not even tired, no need to sleep".

Oh and also be aware that Pharmacy Geoff takes a while to arrive, expect 12-14 days.

Cheers, I'd heard about the getting drunk quicker bit, but the latter is good to know too. I think I'll just not risk drinking entirely whenever I'm on it, seeing as how it seems to vary from person to person. I'm still hoping I don't get any terrible side effects from it anyway.

A quick browse around at reviews for Pharmacygeoff seems to indicate that they are not 100% legitimate. While people get their orders, I've seen a fair few people saying their cards were scammed. Not too sure about it.

My order with them seemed to go fine too. It was over a week ago and there hasn't been anything suspicious/any other purchases at all on my card, but someone did suggest it might depend on how big an order you're doing and whether or not you're with a small bank.

On another note, this stuff is fucking amazing. I've had one of the most productive days I've had in a while. I took one a 7am and I still feel focused. Just hoping I can get some decent sleep now before having to be up for work. Also, the only side effect I seemed to get was a slight headache, which went away pretty quickly, so I'm very pleased with this overall.

Modafinil is not controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act and there are no legal ramifications for obtaining it for personal use without a script in the UK, according to my sources. I'd say discussion about acquiring it here is only of the very palest grey compared to exchanging hookups for heroin. Not sure how a proxy would protect you from card fraud though.

Well, it'd reduce the risk in my mind. Only one Britfa.g risks their card details with Mr. Geoff, all the others Paypal him for their part of big orders, and maybe a little extra beer money for being such a lovely person.

Actually, the best way to achieve this would be to open an account linked to a card which you simply deposit money into whenever you want to buy something. That way they only have the details of that one card and if it gets ghosted, they've got nothing to play with and no one gets hurt.

I know this because this is exactly what I used to do to buy things off the Internet, and I know for a fact that even when the details get ghosted it's very easy to prove that it was a scam because your card gets overdrawn from its 93p balance when someone uses the details to pay for porn DVDs. I mean really, who even buys DVDs these days. Clearly ridiculous.

A 100mg tablet is what I had taken in >>4955 and I had to force myself to sleep, as I was only slightly tired, so I just put one of those eye mask things on and listened to some relaxing music. I must have had about 4 hours and woke up feeling very refreshed.

I've been taking them in halves now, which doesn't seem to give me much of that "super focused" feeling, but it stops me feeling tired all day and I get about 6-7 hours of sleep each night. I've managed to maintain a healthy, normal schedule for the entire week, which is something I've rarely been able to do.

I would like to order more, but am somewhat worried about the card scamming, if it happens with bigger orders or is just random..I might just wait and do what >>4961 suggested.

Hello /a/

I've been having trouble focusing on my work of late (procrastination, creative blocks etc), so based on the learnings in this thread, I bought 40 Piracetam and 4O modafinil from Geoffrey.

They arrived on saturday; took 2 modafinil 100mg, 2 Piracetam 40mg along with the multivitamins I usually take. Whoosh!

To cut a long story short, I've got loads of stuff done, although I chewed up my mouth a bit in the process. Also, my urine turned a fine shade of luminous yellow, which suggests my kidneys are getting a work out too.

I'm not sure I'd want to get into the habit of doing this regularly (or around colleagues) but they certainly put the rocket under you. Particularly the modafinil :D

Yeah, moda felt exactly like amphetamine, I wouldn't be surprised if it was one. Glad you got stuff done though.
Try taking about 500%rda of magnesium when you take it, and possibly some gum. The former works quite well as a muscle relaxant for your jaw, the latter gives you something to chew other than your cheeks.

At considerable risk of starting a cunt-off, and without particularly wanting to, I have to say that it really boggles the mind how, in a world of easily and freely available knowledge and information, some people seem so allergic to it.

Moda is NOT an amphetamine. Aside from sharing a benzene ring, they're not even chemically similar. While subjectively it can feel similar to amphetamine (except for euphoria) the mechanism of action is quite different.

Can the two of you please calm down and accept that most people in an /A/ board won't understand the subtleties of pharmacology when it comes to something like modafinil? Educate them as to the chemical differences if you want, but understand why most people (i.e. a lay audience) would assume based on subjective experience that it's an amphetamine. God knows most kids taking pills don't know the difference between the crap speed in their tabs and actual MDMA, same situation.

In other news, I've been taking Modafinils some mornings when I've got a lot to do. Sometimes I can really feel it working, other times: nothing. Is this normal? I'm a bit apprehensive about taking more than two at once

Use a credit card, not a debit card. If you get ripped off, you just phone your bank and say you've had your card details stolen. Unless the bank can prove negligence on your part, they're liable for the full amount.

I've had my debit card stolen and a few hundred pounds taken from my account, and I got it all back within the week by reporting it to the police, getting a reference number, and talking to one guy in my local branch for 15 minutes. Very little hassle at all. Nationwide are pretty good.

They send you a form, you fill it out and return it, you get the money back. It's piss easy. The Consumer Credit Act gives massive amounts of protection to credit card customers, far in excess of what most people expect. The bank is wholly liable for all fraud, unless they can prove that the cardholder was grossly negligent (e.g. failing to promptly report a lost card, writing down your pin etc). If you buy anything over £100 on a credit card, the bank is liable for the goods or services purchased, not just the transaction. If you buy a holiday on your credit card and the tour company goes bust, the bank has to give you a refund. If you buy a TV with plastic and it breaks, the bank are legally liable in addition to your statutory rights with the retailer.

Importing personal quantities of non-controlled prescription drugs is perfectly legal. If you don't want to admit that to your bank, then you just say that you didn't authorise the transaction. The bank can only refuse to refund the transaction if they have documentary evidence that you authorised the transaction, which obviously they have no means of gathering.

Might as well bump this thread instead of making a new one.

Is anyone here still using modafinil or anything of the like? I've been off it for a while and lately I'm having real issues with my sleep and keep failing at regulating it. I managed to get in a decent routine using modafinil before, but I can't seem to find the place I got them from before and the other ones I'm coming across seem a lot more expensive. Does anyone have/know of a reliable place to buy? Also, has anyone tried armodafinil? Apparently it's supposed to be better.

I haven't used moda in years but there are still plenty of places to get it online if you just poke around a bit.

Armodafinil is just the R-isomer of modafinil as opposed to a racemic mixture. Supposedly this means it has more bang per (milli)gram as the R-isomer is the bit that does what you want (a bit like dextro vs levo (meth)amphetamine). Basically just think of 100mg r-moda as being 200mg moda and you can work out which is better price wise at even given retailer.

Currently there is bis-fluoro-N-methyl analogue of modafinil being sold in the UK as a research chemical under the utterly cringe worthy 'brand name' Modafiendz (sic).
