My friend's dog, she was a right little poser. She died recently of a heart attack. Such a shame.

I'm very much new to photography, and I barely put any time into it since my friend/mentor moved to America, but here's a few snapshots I've taken this year.

Here's one from Vegas. Such a photogenic city but it was just too hot to actually get out and take pictures.

I'm much the same really. I bought my camera because I have a motorcycle and end up in a lot of places where I've thought "This would make a nice picture". Unfortunately the camera broke not long ago, and I never got another due to money. Managed to order myself one the other day though, for those winter shots.

I really liked this capture, the way the trees get gradually more bare left to right.

My friend/mentor is a massive advocate of Photoshop so he was telling me I should "do something with it" and telling me off for shooting JPG and not RAW. I haven't really got the time for spending hours making a photo more artistic, but I couldn't really tell him that because he could just as easily turn around and ask why I bother taking the pictures in the first place.

I'm much the same. I couldn't care less whether it's artistic or not. However I seem to have an eye for pretty things, so if I see something I like, I'll snap it.

I bought an infrared filter after seeing a bunch of cool IR photos on Flickr, turns out the hot mirror in my camera is really good, so IR gets blocked out really well. This means that with my IR filter on, only a few wavelengths of red actually make it to the CCD.

These are from an old abandoned chapel that me and the girlfriend found in the woods.

I'll hold off in mine for a while, see if anyone else wants to post theirs.

I love photography, but I'm not particularly proficient in it. I'll still buy expensive cameras and lenses though because I'm an idiot.

I don't have any photographs on this PC, I'll post some later though when I do.

I'm no expert either, but here are a couple of snaps I took on holiday earlier this year.

I like my old lens collection. Manual focus and aperture and such is a bit of a hassle, but they're easy enough to deal with that I managed wildlife photography with them.

Recently took a trip on the Glacier Express through Switzerland.
Though it boasts the slowest speeds of any Express train, it was still a little too fast for my consumer compact to focus a lot of the time, but I did take one or two keepers.

I wouldn't say so. Just get a good camera, start practising and messing around with the settings. Make sure you know at least some of the basics.

Also think of your shot before you take it.

I bought a snazzy compact zoom years ago and barely ever use it. I only have about two decent photos which are properly exposed and in focus.

To be honest I didn't really mean it in that way. I do like it but I think it is in the wrong place. It looks like it's been dropped at random as an afterthought.
The entire entrance should be rebuilt to draw people to the centre instead because the current entrance is a sort of limbo.
