It seems like an interesting idea, It must have been hell getting the copyright sorted; but the fact it mentions including user's work makes me shudder that it might turn into Deviantart or Flickr.

2515 Glitch Art
Has anyone else here tried to create their own glitch art using text editing software?

Here's something I made earlier.

No seriously, I must be a retard. I've tried with 2 different photos, each time only editing a tiny bit in different places. It just refuses to re-open once I've fiddled with it and tried to re-open in photoshop.

It's incredibly fussy tbh, it's taken me hours to get a system that works for me, and it appears that it doesn't work for everyone. I'd mess around with different file types and editors until hopefully you'll be able to find something that works.

Bumping an old thread to knock that whiny art thread and Emin off the top

All this work reminds me of Moebius and his glorious work, especially the Stargazer series, The Long Tomorrow and the work he did with Jodorowsky. Just imagine if those two had made Dune.

Key faults :

1) Why is Saatchi's opionon worth anything? Especially since this art is shit.
2) Why is it being covered in the media to the point of obscuring better art?

1) You're getting hung up on the 'subjective' part, Saatchi's opinions aren't worth anything more than anybody else's, the only difference is that he owns his own gallery.

2) Is it being covered in the media? It happened 15 years ago, and when it was being covered the vast majority of it was poking fun of her.

3) Why the sage? It makes it difficult to see your replies, anyone would have thought you're ashamed of your own opinions.

4) You sound like the kind of sad defensive hugbox addict who dearly clings on to the fantasy that participation is all that matters in the race, not winning and try their best to ban all sports in school so that everyone can be "winners" of nothing to try and enforce equality in success and accomplishments. How dare those people be smarter than you! How dare they succeed where you have failed! If only you could get a law written for it! It is that kind of bitterness that only forces someone even lower down on the podium of life.

>>I think she's dreadful and talentless, but my opinion doesn't matter.

m8, wtf? So you're saying she didn't try hard and just participated, but that's ok because some random twit with more cash than sense thinks she's good. And then saying that I believe that?

My head hurts.

>>2) Is it being covered in the media? It happened 15 years ago, and when it was being covered the vast majority of it was poking fun of her.

In art museums, similar shit is being posted instead of decent stuff. It's always stuff more similar to Emin or hurst's shitty work, instead of the work of Dali, Escher, Da Vinci or Van Gogh. That's why I don't like these twits.

In conclusion : lolno, I'm not a hugbox addict. But you seem to sound like one.

Most of the 'good' artist talk absolute bollocks when put to an interview or asked questions. This is the generation of lowest common denominator art. I you compare someone like hirst, what he says and what other people say about him there's a huge gap i understanding in everyone else's favour, he's a dick. At least Emin has the balls to spout of the pretentious art-talk, even if it is all obviously post-work thinking.. but they're all getting to old now, how long has he been painting those fucking butterflies, and Emin just started making touchy-feely blankets -probably compensating for her lack of gran'kids.

Saatchi seems to be in a state of perpetual mid-life crisis, and the secondary market can suck my balls. lalalala la ala
